We Paid Let Us In! is the debut album from Abstract Mindstate. Released in 2001, every song on the project as well as the photography, graphic design and layout was financed via contest winnings by the group. When a sizable investment fell thru, the group lacked the funds necessary to properly market and promote the album themselves as planned. They ultimately accepted an offer from an independent upstart label but unfortunately it resulted in the project being grossly mishandled. Although the release was highly anticipated and received great reviews, it suffered at the hands of bad decision making and lack of experience by the young label heads.
